Grilled Pork Rice... ![]() Bites Of Asia (Yield:6 Servings) Ingredients: 2 stalks lemon grass (chopped) 2 cloves garlic (mince) 1/2 cup onion (chopped 2 tbsps oyster sauce 2 tbsps hoisin sauce 3 cups sweet and sour fish sauce (see recipe in sauce section) 1 tsp pepper 1 1/2 lbs pork loin 2 bowls steam rice 1 head leaf lettuce (cut 1/4 inch wide cross leaf) 1/2 lb bean sprouts (rinsed and drained) 12 mint sprigs 12 cilantro sprigs 1/2 cup roasted peanuts (crushed) Preparation: 2. Using a blender, combine lemon grass, garlic, onion, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and pepper to make mariating mix. Marinate pork pieces in mix for 30 minutes. When ready, skew pork pieces onto wood skewers. 3. Place pork on a hot grill (electric, gas, or coal). Cook pork for 8-10 minutes. Meanwhile, place lettuce, bean sprouts, vermicelli, mints and cilantro sprigs into bowl (quanity as desire). 4. When pork is ready, remove pork from skewers and place on top of steam rice. Sprinkle some crushed peanuts over meat. Add 1/4 cup of sweet and sour fish sauce and mix. Start eat and adding more sweet and sour fish sauce if necessary. |
